I don’t think either of us had ever been to a Ren Fest before this, and I’m still not entirely sure what compelled us to go to this one, but we saw a commercial for The Ohio Renaissance Festival and decided, “What the heck?! That could be a fun thing to do together before we move.”
Sorry, we didn’t dress up. My corset was at the dry cleaners.
I’m just kidding – I don’t really have a corset…
It’s kind of hard to notice right away, but there is a woman laying on the stage with her feet in the air – that’s what the juggler was sitting on. It was pretty impressive.
The weekend we went was supposed to be an “Irish Celebration” theme, but there were an awful lot of kilts around.
We caught a quick performance by the Celtic Irish-Scot band Father, Son & Friends.
This was suppose to be some sort of human chess match, but we only caught the end of it, so I’m not quite sure what’s happening here.
These two were quite hilarious. I wish I would have gotten a close up of the man in the red, because he seriously looked just like Tommy Chong.
And it just wouldn’t be a Renaissance Festival without some jousting.
Each half of the audience were given their own knight to root for. Here was our knight:
Suiting up…
…And, JOUST!
Our knight won. :)
It was a fun day – getting outside, being together, seeing all the exciting events and pretty costumes. I think we might make this an annual tradition!
