This is a really simple and inexpensive project that can be completed within a few minutes. It might also be a good project to do with your little ones. I don’t really know since I have zero experience with kids… it actually might not be a good idea to let small children play with a jar of peanut butter and bird seed. I don’t know. It’s your call.
SUPPLIES
- toilet paper / paper towel roll
- peanut butter
- butter knife
- bowl
- bird seed
1. save your empty TP rolls, or paper towel rolls if you want them to be bigger // 2. cover the roll in peanut butter // 3. roll in bird seed // 4. slide onto thin branches
If you have bigger branches on your trees you can try cutting a slit in the rolls before covering them so they can go over the branches more easily.
I put two in my parents’ backyard, but I’m pretty sure the deer got more use out of them than the birds. Oh well, at least it fed something.

I used to do this with pinecones when I was a kid. :)
You always have such wonderful projects! I love reading your blog. I wanted to invite you to come link up at a party on my blog. It is a link party for OLD projects--so that we can hopefully get more traffic to our blogs using projects we've already posted. Come over and remind us of some of your favorite projects!
The link-up is live now.

this is really nifty!
I always want to do a bird feeder and then get too lazy. This is so easy I could have the kids to this on their own. Thanks for linking another great tutorial to Craftastic Monday at Sew Can Do:)
This is a fabulous idea. Did not think of using peanut butter... Hope they like their treat.
Let me invite you to come link it up at our linky party: http://www.finecraftguild.com/linky-party-52/
