Since we ditched our cheap-o Wal Mart bookshelves after moving last year, we were in need of some new bookcases for our new place. We chose two of these shelves from IKEA. In the past I’ve just stacked things wherever they’d fit on the shelves, but this time around I really tried to go through all of our books, movies, and nerdy little knickknacks and work out ways to display them all more purposefully and beautifully.
I put together my little paper craft Avengers using Gus Santome’s awesome templates. If you haven’t seen his paper crafts yet you should definitely check them out. He has lots of other super heroes, Disney characters, and even an Adventure Time set that I’m itching to make.
My sonic screwdriver and a few of our favorite movies.
R2D2 Mickey ears from our family trip to Orlando a couple years ago, and the little Boba Fett that Andrew gave me way back when we were still dating.
My best friend made this Star Wars painting for me a couple of Christmases ago, and the Millennium Falcon was a childhood gift from my dad.
I have a whole box full of these Burger King toys that were released for Revenge of the Sith, but these were the only two that made it out of storage. Someday I’ll have space for them all…
One of our Harry Potter shelves, with the Hulk and a few good books added in.
And my wand that I got from Olivander’s.
Our second Harry Potter shelf is mine and Andrew’s favorite. The bottles, the skull, and the colors in the Harry Potter book set create a feeling of fantasy that I really like. Also, the lantern in the background is from our wedding.
And last, we have out blanket box where Hugo likes to cuddle with Fluffy.
I love how the majority of our decorations are either handmade or gifts from loved ones. Everything has its own story, represents us, and gives our home a lot of character. It’s definitely starting to feel like home around here.
I love it! Thank you for sharing at our Pinteresting Party!
