DIY: Star Wars Inspired Banner [for the bedroom] |

Every Star Wars fan knows those two iconic lines from ESB and ROTJ and if you’re anything like me, you quote them with your significant other as often as possible. So it only seemed fitting to display it in our bedroom [but feel free to put yours wherever you want if you decide to give this project a try]

I don’t think this really needs a step-by-step tutorial, but I put one together anyway, just in case.

  • printer
  • gold [or whatever color you want] poster board
  • hole punch
  • string
  • scissors
  • thumbtacks/nails
  • pencil

1. print the letters needed onto some cardstock to use as stencils // 2. then cut them out // 3. traced them onto the gold poster board and cut those out [I suppose you could skip all this if you’re fine with just using the cardstock, but I wanted something sturdier. And gold] // 4. punch whole at the top of each letter // 5. tie string through each hole // 6. string ‘em up! [I used thumbtacks to hold the string up on the wall]

Overall I like how it turned out, but I kind of wish I had just stuck the letters to the wall instead of making a banner. Maybe I’ll remake it someday… What do you think?

Oh, and if you’d like to print the same template I used for the letters, you can download them here. Please note, though, that I didn’t include duplicate letters, so there is only one I and O to be traced multiple times.

  3. super sweet, even if I didn't know it was from star wars. all the more better when you know it's something special. not romantic, but the boyfriend and I quote "you're killin' me, smalls" from the sandlot, and I painted it for him, lol.

  4. This is simple and perfect! :)
