When it comes to decorating, there’s not a whole lot that can be done with our kitchen. It’s very small with only one usable wall panel. Nevertheless I tried to bring in some fun, colorful touches where I could. There’s still a few things I’d like to do with the space, but since there's a good chance we won't be sticking around here for too much longer I doubt I'll get around to doing them. For now here’s what I’ve got done.
I moved the rug from the living room into the kitchen, where it takes up practically the entire floor. It brings a lot of color into the otherwise neutral space.
I glued a few postcard prints from IKEA onto the lids of my old Birchboxes and hung them on the wall between the fridge and the sink.
There’s also a tiny bit of wall space beside the counter next to the stove and I used it to hang our oven mitts.
The canister was gifted to me by my best friend (she found it at a thrift store) and it holds Hugo’s treats. And I love my random “Nice” spatula.
I actually took these photos a few months ago, and at the time didn’t have anything on the fridge besides our dry erase calendar and these alien magnets I made in high school. Now the thing is covered in photos and invitations and whatnot. Maybe I’ll post pictures of it later. Maybe not. Who knows?
Anyway, that’s a little a mini tour of the kitchen. It’s not much, but I like what we’ve been able to do with it so far. It’s all in the little details, right?
Do you guys have any tips for decorating small spaces?

Its looking good :) I love the rug what a gorgeous pattern.
ReplyDeleteI have a pretty small kitchen which Iv almost finished renovating .... 13 weeks and counting hopefully this will be the last weekend working on it. I think going bold with big art or coloured decor is the way to go in a small kitchen, making a statement. A little bit of colour can go a long way :)
the rug matches that canister perfectly!
