Are you tired of turning away silly English Kniggits? Do you constantly find yourself warding off people whose mothers are hamsters and fathers smell of elderberries? Maybe you’re just a huge fan of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Whatever the reason, you need this doormat in your life.
SUPPLIES
- Doormat
- Fabric Paint
- Small Sponge Brush
- Letter Stencils (optional)
- A ruler probably wouldn’t be too bad either if you want the spacing to be perfect
This is a pretty simple project. All you’re doing is painting letters onto a doormat. If you have stencils feel free to use them. I tried to make my own with contact paper and spray paint, but, that didn’t work out too well.
The paint didn’t come out as dark as I wanted, probably because of the texture of the doormat, and it bled a lot. So instead, I recommend using fabric paint and a sponge brush to paint the letters. That’s what I did to fix up the mess from the spray paint anyway. I figured that since fabric paint was meant to hold up in a washing machine that it could handle some rain and snow.
There. That looks better.
All in all though, I think it turned out alright and the fabric paint has held up through rain and snow. It’s probably one of the most unwelcoming welcome mats ever, but I like it.
I LOVE THIS!
